When we founded the Boston Steam & Vintage Festival back in 2005 we had the ambition to have a William Tuxford Steam engine at the show.  Now in 2016 we have not only one but two Tuxford Stationary Steam Engines on display.  Thanks to the owners for bringing and steaming these pieces of local history.

Tuxford & Sons have been credited with being early pioneers in producing portable steam engines at their iron works located on Skirbeck Road, Boston.  Several Tuxford engines were displayed at the Royal Agricultural Society Show at Bristol in 1842.

Fosters Showmans Engine "Aquitania" at this years show.  Thankfully the weather eased to allow the owners to steam the engine during the evenings entertainment on Saturday night.
